Background[]
As Halloween approaches, Kanami, Mai and Sayaka noticed the sudden increase of pumpkin-themed products for sale. Mai explained to Halloween first-timer Sayaka about how the occasion is celebrated, and this led Mai to think about setting up a Halloween party. Mai and Kanami soon think of the perfect costumes for their friends, while Sayaka was eventually persuaded into dressing up by the invitation of sweets and cookies made by Mai. To prepare for the party, Mai brought Kanami and Sayaka to the nearby grocery where they picked up a lot of pumpkins. Chie and Mihono soon encountered Mai and the others, and Kanami immediately invited Mihono to the party. Mihono agreed, and even promised to bring more people along. Chie also decided to help Mai in preparing the pumpkin dishes for the party.
Upon returning from their grocery trip, Mai, Chie and the others began the process of preparing the pumpkins for the party menu. Mai decided to put a twist by making it an opportunity to make jack-o'-lanterns. Sayaka's unusual approach of using an Okatana to cut through the tough skin of the pumpkins gave Mihono and Kanami the idea to do the same, but Chie advised against doing so. Instead, she and Mai recommend getting used with a normal knife.
A sudden Aradama alert forced Mihono, Kanami and Sayaka to leave the cooking to Chie and Mai. Alone together, the two girls admired each other's cooking skills, but Mai felt inferior to Chie's prowess in preparing food and accidentally cut herself while trying to cut onions. Mai apologized for the delay, but Chie tended to her cut while assuring that she was not doing anything wrong. With Chie's suggestion, Mai thought of adding Hamburg steak or omelette rice to the party menu.
Kanami, Mihono and Sayaka were en route to the location of the Aradama sighting, motivated by the thought of a hearty feast when they return. Mihono and Kanami soon talked about other activities associated with Halloween, and trick-or-treating became the topic. Sayaka's idea of dressing up as an Aradama for Halloween inspired them to rush to their Aradama target, only to see Elite Guards Yomi Satsuki and Yume Tsubakuro already finished dealing with the Aradama. Without an Aradama to base their costume on, Mihono and the others resorted to drawing one from memory, which made Yume curious. Coincidentally, Yume was thinking of setting up a Halloween party for Yukari and the Elite Guards as a way to spend idle time indoors, but eventually settled for a prank since Yukari, Maki and Suzuka were always busy. Yomi joked about using actual Aradama for the prank, but Yume was not amused and decided to play outside, only to return upon hearing news that a group of girls from Minoseki were setting up a Halloween party.
Yume's opportunity to go outside finally came in the form of an Aradama alert received by Yomi. This alert ultimately allowed Yume to meet Kanami and the others, and Yomi tried to avoid interaction between Yume and Kanami's group. However, Yume quickly asked permission from Yukari to attend the party, and Yomi reluctantly agreed to accompany Yume to the event.
Mai and Chie were surprised to find a much larger attendance to the party than anticipated, but they knew that the food they prepared would be enough for everyone. Chie urged Mai to present a small speech for those in attendance, after which the Halloween party officially started. Kanami and Mihono settled for attending in just their uniforms after giving up on their Aradama costume idea, while Yume asked Mai about taking home a jack-o'-lantern for her plan to prank Yukari. The idea of pranking the head of the Origami family intrigued Kaoru and Ellen and agreed to come along.
As Sayaka enjoyed eating the freshly cooked pumpkin pie, Chie and Mai shared an intimate moment where Mai received a present from her: a special menu consisting of Hamburg steak, omelette rice and spaghetti, all prepared for her hard work during the party preparations.
